Love Fish'n'Chips Hate Britain
I attended the Love Music Hate Racism event in 2008 at Victoria Park as a racist Muslim interviewing people about racism and nationality. I suspected most people were attending to see 'cool' bands rather than protest against racism. I wanted to find out why people where there? What they thought about racism? And what they thought was traditional about Britain? Most people answered 'Fish'n'Chips'. Has Britain lost track of its own traditional culture? Does Britain celebrate other nationalities cultural traditions more than its own? What do you think is quintessentially British?
